A Bat Mitzvah & a Birthday

This weekend was full of birthday fun – a friend’s bat mitzvah as well as our springtime family birthday celebration which was made that much more special because our neice is turning 16!  Time really does fly.

The girls were super excited to be able to dress up for the bat mitzvah.  New dresses and shoes = excitement.  They clean up pretty nicely!  Boy did they have a good time dancing, chatting, eating candy.  Us?  We had a blast too.  It was nice to get out and meet some new people. Plus, it is always nice to get to watch your kids looking simply happy.

The next day began with us getting ready for my brother’s family to arrive (my parents had arrived the night before).  After a bit of a visit it was off for Teppenyaki….mmmmm.  Lunch and a show AND all gluten free for me!  The kids got a kick out of watching their cousin’s see the food set a flame for the very first time.  Then it was back home for some ice cream cake and presents.  With 6 spring birthdays in the family this is really the easiest way to fit in all of the spring birthdays.  We also managed to squeeze in a family portrait.
